Dead or Alive, you're coming with me

Gotta admit it, I was a bit skeptical about the Robocop reboot when first images leaked online. And the first trailer wasn’t that hot, either. But Watching ED209 strut down an Afghani street with empire overtones sure does promise a bit of thought behind the inevitable gunplay. “Why is America so robo-phobic?” Hmmm… good question Sam Jackson (could it be the drones?). Plus, Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton? Could be worse. Although its February 12, 2014 release date is a bit dubious, that’s usually around when studios are dumping their worst offerings. Who knows, maybe it’ll buck the trend…

One Response to “RoboCop: Watch Official Film Trailer #2”

  1. […] It would be hard for us to like a robot villain more than ED-209. Sure some others spring to mind, like the original Soundwave, the Invid, and even the O.G. Cylons, but ED-209 kicks human ass in ways the others just can’t. The design of the Robocop-battling Enforcement Droid is just so innovative and sinister, it’s impossible to beat. NECO’s 10-inch deluxe action figure of ED-209 is one of the best we’ve seen, highly detailed and loaded with articulated head, legs that slide up and down, hinged arm wing panels, poseable cannon arms, and a pop-out rocket launcher on the right arm. Plus, the figure is augmented with electronic sound effects — easily button triggered. The screen-accurate effects and dialogue include hydraulic machinery sounds, guttural metal growls and the famed last warning: “Throw down your weapon; you have 15 seconds to comply.” As you know, it’s pointless to heed ED-209′s commands as he’s still likely to fill you with high caliber lead, but at least it’s worth a try. NECA’s also figure comes packaged in a deluxe closed box for easy display — pick it up now for $70 before you head to the reboot next week. […]
